Dear Mother,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I received your caring letter a few days ago, and I was deeply touched by your concern for my well-being. Please forgive me for not replying sooner; I had some unavoidable tasks that prevented me from writing back. Thankfully, I am feeling much better now. It’s often said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” and I am doing my best to take good care of my health.

Last week, I caught a slight throat infection, which soon turned into a cold and mild flu. Within a day or two, I developed a fever accompanied by body aches, which made me feel quite low. As a result, I could not attend school for two days, which worried me more than the illness itself.

Thankfully, our school doctor checked me thoroughly and treated me with great care. Moreover, he reassured me that it was only a seasonal viral infection and prescribed me a week’s medicine. He strictly advised me to take complete rest and avoid any fried or cold food. ‘Health is wealth,’ as they say, so I followed all his instructions sincerely. Consequently, by Allah’s mercy and the doctor’s care, I have now fully recovered, except for a bit of weakness which will soon fade. I am also taking a balanced diet and enough sleep to regain my strength. In the mornings, I go for a light walk as ‘A sound mind lives in a sound body.

I’m really happy to share that I’ve been able to return to my classes regularly. Furthermore, my teachers have been incredibly understanding and are doing everything they can to help me catch up on what I missed. With their guidance and my dedication, I truly believe I can stay on track for my Mid-Term Examinations. Additionally, I know how much you care about my success and health, and your prayers are such a comforting support for me. Please try not to worry any longer — ‘Every cloud has a silver lining,’ and this recent illness has really deepened my appreciation for my health.

I am eagerly waiting for the exams to end so I can visit you next month. Meanwhile, your love and care mean the world to me. Lastly, kindly pay my regards to Father, Grandmother, and my dear siblings. Take care of your health and do not stress about me anymore.

Yours affectionately,

X.Y.Z
